I go to the woods (extract)
………….
our wanting so much from everything,
limiting our ability to be open to receive;
a simplicity, so natural and easy.
Small birds sing out
Crow caws,
day does nothing but ‘be’,
only people hanker,
longing for something that misses what is;
the immensity of moment and now,
that does not pull or push or
want from us,
but in its endless opening,
its expressive being,
we are included,
an invitation, ever present.
Dare to enter what has seemed to be
an unbearable spaciousness of being,
and so to find the exquisite truth of ‘is’,
I allow; no, invite the ache of aloneness,
draw it close, let it touch so deep; to flood,
and in the company of these mighty giants
showing the way, stay with it,
watch it melt into divine stillness,
as peaceful and quiet as the leaves
that hover on this breathless day.
It will come again I know,
but I have tasted its fullness now and
can include it, let it be, let it live,
let it have its place,
for there is no wholeness without it.
This wood; a glorious crowding of variety
all taking their place, without judgement
opinion, self consciousness,
just is and is and is,
as it is.
And I have learned that the way is not to
exclude, reject and push away
but to stay open;
arms and heart wide and willing….

November 2012
In my walking out over the past several days I have been struck by a beautiful stillness. This stillness is also in us….and the work with consciousness and meditation brings us closer to it. We find that we are less and less in busy minds torrent, sometimes torture, of unproductive nonsense thoughts, and more and more present with life as it is….. So that no matter what is going on in our life, no matter what mood or state presents we are more able to be still with it and to find our way. It is a wide acceptance of ourselves and life as is. This baseline provides a spring board to the peace and ease that is in the depth of our being…….
Can you let this day be as it is
Others be as they are
let yourself be
the open empty stillness
of no-thing, wanting
Finding and growing a haven within
Day workshop on Saturday November 30th
An opportunity to gather in the service of deepening our connection to ourselves and to life. To participate in practices that assist us towards coming close to ourselves, to finding and growing a haven within. And to working directly with whatever is presenting in the here and now.
It is the work of direct, immediate, responsive to life unfolding. Everything is allowed into the garden, nothing refused.
Teaching, along with guided and silent practices introduce ways in which we can come into a better and more meaningful connection with ourselves. The practices then become a resource and support in difficult times.
We work with gentleness and from a firm base of accepting ourselves where and how we are. Building and growing self acceptance is the baseline corner stone of this work.
It is a practice of right here right now ~ and in the process, the seeing and beginning to know more, all that gets in the way. In this way we also become aware of blockages and find ways of working with these.
There are so many people lost at sea without any firm connection to the truth of who they really are. To the strong and pure ‘being’, that is the jewel in the heart of us all.
This work arises from a vision for a different way of being in the world, a way that brings forth, grows and honours our humanity.
